Get To Know
Dixie Cartelli is the artist at Sanctuary Studios. She holds a Bachelor of Art with a Minor in Art Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and has been actively creating ceramics and teaching for over 10 years.
Away from the studio, Dixie enjoys gardening, hiking, going on walks with her husband and their dogs. As well as visiting museums and art galleries, goings to shows or concerts, or taking weekend road trips. She is always up for a cup of coffee and a good book.
As the wife to an active duty U.S. Navy sailor, she created Sanctuary Studios as a way to create a sustainable livelihood doing something that brings her fulfillment while regularly PCSing (moving on military orders) from place to place. Having experienced just a small measure of the sacrifices service members and their families make everyday, she decided that a portion of the proceeds from each purchase from her shop will be contributed to the Hope For The Warriors® organization. See below for more information on Hope For The Warriors®.
About Hope For The Warriors
Hope For The Warriors was founded by military families aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC in 2006 as they witnessed, firsthand, the effects war imparts on service members and their families. Hope For The Warriors has remained grounded in family values as the organization expands both the span of programs offered and the number of wounded, family members, and families of the fallen assisted.
The leadership of the organization remains in the dedicated hands of combat veterans and military family members. Together, our board of directors, staff, and volunteers work tirelessly to serve those who have sacrificed so much. The integrity of our organization is paramount and therefore our representatives are as honorable and noble as our mission and the people we serve.
